Creighton Prep was honored to have 2017 Alumnus of the Year Larry Good '69 speak to Prep students, faculty and staff at an all-school assembly in the Heider Center on Tuesday, November 7.
In his speech, Larry thanked Creighton Prep President Fr. Tom Neitzke, SJ for the honor and told the crowd the story of Prep swimmer Tom Duggan '71 whose courage and resiliency in his battle with leukemia inspired the swim team to an overwhelming victory at the 1969 state meet over three-time defending state champion Westside. Prep would go on to win titles in basketball, baseball and football that year as well. He also recommended to the students that they do everything they can to get the most out of their Prep experience.
Larry is the President and Owner of P.I. Midwest, a consulting and organizational development firm that uses the Predictive Index System to help over 400 companies identify the work strengths of their job applicants and employees, and compare those to the requirements of the jobs they are applying for or doing.
He has given outstanding service to Prep that includes a longtime sponsorship by P.I. Midwest of the American Legion baseball program and work on the school’s Council of Regents. He and his wife Shirley were inducted in the Creighton Prep Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 and are the proud parents of two sons: Brandon and T.J.
In addition to his work for Prep, Larry serves on the Mercy High School Board of Trustees and on the Board of Advisors for the St. Augustine Indian Mission.
