I hope this finds you enjoying summer. While the start of school is still about 2 months away, Prep Moms is starting to prepare for next year, and as ALWAYS we NEED your HELP!!

By now you should have received the BIG Prep Moms summer mailing - all 7 pages of it.

Please know that ANYONE interested in your son is encouraged to be a part of Prep Moms. We happily take any and all help offered. We have moms, dads, guardians, grandparents, and even aunts and uncles who help us carry out our mission to support the boys, the school, and each other. Included in the mailing is a list of our 'events' as well as a schedule of Prep Moms meetings. Please jot those meetings down and please come if you can. The meetings are a great way to find out what is going on in the school as Fr. Merkel and Mr. Naatz usually both present reports.

One of the pieces in the mailing was a list and short description of committees for which we are in need of volunteers. Please look through the list and decide which committees might be of interest to you. Most of these endeavors are one time volunteer commitments so feel free to sign up for as many as you would like. We operate on the old addages "Many hands make light work" and "the more the merrier!!!" If you have any questions about what a certain committee entails please feel free to contact the committee chair(s) or me.

Another piece in the mailing was a description of how the lunch room is going to operate this year. Please read this letter carefully. The lunch room will require more volunteers than ever this year and unlike years past there will be a variety of time options for which to volunteer. This is a fun way to observe your son at school - when he doesn't even realize you're watching!! If this is an area that interests you please remember to indicate on the sign up page the type of day you would like to work (A/B or C), and please remember indicating both shifts on an A/B day means you're willing to stay for both lunches which are separated by a 50 minute break.

Please read and carefully consider the letter reagarding the PRIDE Safe Homes Network Fr. Merkel included in our mailing. Fr. not only stresses the importance of providing safe homes for our sons and networking to assist one another in achieving that goal, but also details how to become a member of the PRIDE Safe Homes Network as well as Creighton Prep's own Parent Awareness Network.

Please fill out and return the white directory information sheet ASAP. The Crieghton Prep Student directory is one of the most vital resources in any Prep home, and we want to make sure all the information included is correct. Patti Pryor and Kim Lubeck will spend a great many hours on this large project and would greatly appreciate the early return of ALL the directory forms!! Directories will be available for purchase on Mini-School night.

Thank you for your willingness to get involved at Creighton Prep through the Prep Moms organization. I thank you in advance for volunteering for whatever committee(s) struck a chord with you. The committee chair(s) will contact you just prior to your event, but feel free to touch base with them or me if you haven't been contacted; we will be happy to receive your call.

I look forward to the next year with great aniticipation of all the wonderful people I will meet and the things we will accomlish TOGETHER!! We have a wonderful family here at Creighton Prep, and I feel awfully blessed to be a part of it.
