Principal's Welcome

Dear Prospective Students,

I would like to welcome you to Creighton Prep. I hope that you will read through our website and then apply for admission. Our purpose is to form you into a person of faith, scholarship, leadership, and service.

This is a wonderful time in the history and tradition of Creighton Prep. Our strategic planning will, over the next few years, bear fruit in the areas of students, faculty and facilities. We are part of a much larger tradition. St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus, began educating young people over 460 years ago. We hold today his same vision and philosophy of education in transforming boys into men of competence, conscience and compassion.  This philosophy makes us unique and available to you as Nebraska and Iowa's only Jesuit high school.

My colleagues at Prep often say that a student enters Prep through his door and leaves through our door. The journey that you will make over the four years is characterized by mental, physical and emotional changes. A review of the milestones that our students experience throughout their Prep careers is daunting. Our students are beginning to reach out in their development, seeing the need for intellectual integrity and religious truths, examining their own religious feelings, moving beyond self-interest and self-centeredness and acquiring the motivation to be a man for others. These qualities are summed up in our Graduate at Graduation Profile which we use as a blueprint to analyze and describe our graduates. Our prayer when you graduate is that you will be more open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to doing justice.

Again welcome to the admissions process. I hope you enjoy the experience. I look forward to joining you on your journey of educating your mind and enriching your spirit.

God's Blessings,

John Naatz
